Julius Woobay was born in Bo, the second largest city in Sierra Leone.He began his professional football career in his native Sierra Leone with East End Lions in the Sierra Leone National Premier League in 2000.During his three seasons with East End Lions from 2000 to 2003 Woobay was rated as the best midfielder in Sierra Leone.
After the 2003 season, Woobay left the Sierra Leone National Premier League and signed with Nea Salamina one of the top clubs in the Cyprus top division. While in Cyprus Woobay was voted as the best player for his club for two consecutive seseans. He was also rated as one of top footballers in the Cyprus League
In January 2007, Woobay moved to top Romanian side Universitatea Craiove, Woobay has established himself among the top midfielders in Romania Since joining Craiova. He has played from the start in every match he is available for the club and has scored 7 goals, including some spectacular goals.
On February 14, 2001 Woobay made his debut for the Sierra Leone national team in a 2002 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Liberia. He was also a key player for Sierra Leone during the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
